PROJECT OVERVIEW

Cross River Rail is a major Queensland infrastructure project delivering a new 10.2 km rail connection through inner Brisbane, including 5.9 km of twin tunnels beneath the Brisbane River and CBD. The project includes new underground stations and significant upgrades to the wider rail network, designed to increase capacity, improve connectivity and support the future growth of Southeast Queensland.

MATRIX SCOPE OF WORKS

Matrix supported the delivery of Cross River Rail by providing skilled personnel across a range of civil and rail-related activities. Our team undertook general civil works, welding, steel fixing and plant operation, alongside broader site construction duties. Matrix also supplied experienced Recipients and Spotters, supporting the safe coordination of works and plant movements within the complex rail construction environment.

KEY CHALLENGES

Working on a major Queensland Government priority infrastructure project required Matrix personnel to operate within a highly coordinated and complex construction environment. With multiple contractors, diverse work activities and heavy plant operating concurrently across the site, our team needed to adapt to changing work fronts while maintaining close communication and coordination with other project teams. Strict safety, compliance and site-access requirements demanded consistently high standards, with all works undertaken in accordance with project procedures and the expectations of a major state infrastructure project.

Matrix successfully delivered the works within our scope without injury or delay, contributing to the safe and efficient progress of this major infrastructure project.
